Our innovations

As active members of the Textile Services Association, National Laundry Group and Worshipful Company of Launderers, we continuously participate in the development of the industry and new technology.

Our Directors regularly travel to partners across Europe and in the United States to research advanced environmental and production process developments. We regularly seek to implement the latest machine technology and processes, but also feel proud to share our findings with our other partners across the UK.

RFID

Having invested in the best top quality laundry washing and finishing machinery, we are now excited to be pioneering the application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chipping on our linen.

RFID enables us to enhance our existing dedicated stock services with tools that greatly benefit our customers. Features of RFID include:

  • Each piece of linen is tagged with a discreet chip;
  • The chip captures a variety of data electronically, including each customer' name, the linen type, its history and previous usage;
  • Scanning portals are positioned throughout Crystal Laundry and at our clients, if requested, which records all transactions, deliveries and collections in real-time; and
  • The chip feeds directly into software which enables us and our clients to prepare management reports showing - at the push of a button - precise linen quantities, times and dates for all deliveries and despatches.

The key benefits of RFID that our customers are already experiencing include:

  • Electronic tagging expedites the stock collection, handling, packing and delivery processes (at the laundry and client's location);
  • Guaranteed delivery quantities and peace-of-mind, as linen batches are automatically scanned as they leave and arrive at locations;
  • Reduced labour costs for our clients through their on-site scanners;
  • Facilitates accurate stock-management and analysis. Reports will show what stock is on site and how stock is being circulated which will benefit the longevity of the linen life; and
  • Enables accurate segregation of a client's dedicated linen stock from other clients', including segregating linen/towel types within batches.
